Two Important Pollinator Protection Initiatives

  • Innovative Pollinator Habitat Mapping Piloted in Washington County (Tara Kelly)

  • Update on the Governor’s Pollinator Protection Committee Draft Recommendations (Dan MacSwain)

FamilyMeans building, 1875 Northwestern Ave. in Stillwater.

Tara Kelly, Landscape Restoration Specialist, Washington Conservation District, will describe Washington County’s innovative pollinator mapping, piloted here in partnership with the Board of Water and Soil Resources. Based on this mapping, the Conservation District has prioritized “sweet spots” for enhanced  pollinator refuge areas and restoration of critical habitat.

Dan MacSwain, Natural Resource Coordinator, Washington County Parks will discuss his work as a member of the Governor’s Committee on Pollinator Protection. Recommendations have been drafted to improve habitat, and to manage pesticides (subcommittee A, subcommittee B).

Free and everyone is welcome.
